This morning I realised that I had left my towel at Astrid's flat, I had a shower the night before as soon as we arrived from Valparaiso because I was really sweaty and dirty from all the travelling and the dust from the earthquake. I sent her a message and she said to come over and collect it whenever, I went out for a walk, to get my towel and generally check out some more of the city. When I got to her flat Johanna and Harriet were there and asked if I wanted to catch a coffee so I thought why not, and get some lunch. We went out and had some coffee in a cool little coffee shop around the corner from her flat, she lives in a really nice area, its the arty bohemian are of town in the Belles Artes region of the city. After the coffee, well I actually had a nice heavy iron pot of Earl Grey tea, which in a way reminded me a little of home as my usual tea is always Earl Grey, we went out to find a cheapish little restaurant round the corner from the coffee shop that had been recommended by their friends. We found somewhere that looked good and was reasonably priced so we went there. I had a creamed corn starter and it was actually very flavoursome and had a texture similar to a chunky soup, the rest had a salad of tomatoes, avocado and lettuce. We all had the same main just with varying rice sides, it was beef that I think was overcooked in a mushroom sauce and white rice with chives. For the price it was a good lunch but I would have happily settled with a churrasco or something like that. Astrid went back to her flat as she had some things to sort out and the rest of us went for a walk in the park to have a look at the museum of contemporary art, I mentioned the damage on it before but it was a grand building and I would have actually really liked to go in and have a look if it was open and the quake hadn't happened.
