Finally, thirty two hours later the boat finally left and we embarked on our four day journey along the Amazon , deeper into the jungle towards the largest city in the world that is not accessible by roads. I have been to a lot of the largest or highest or driest of something. I have been to Chile, the longest and narrowest country in the world, the Atacama desert, supposedly the driest desert in the world that supports no life whatsoever, La Paz, the highest capital city in the world (not technically the capital of Bolivia but it is the capital of something), Lake Titicaca, the highest lake in the world that can support life, on the river Amazon, the largest in the world, the Amazon rainforest, the largest in the world and soon to be Iquitos. I nearly went to the highest bungy jump in South America but went to Machu Picchu instead. I was supposed to go to the southern most city in the world but time, money and transportation was a but of an issue. Oh well, I have lots more ...est things in the world to do yet.
