We set off on our way.
Walked along a path that took us past quite a nice looking beach and then began trekking up the mountain. Once we were about half way up the hill, not mountain, hill, the Danes had already started to lag behind. We waited for them at the entrance gate where we needed to pay to get in, we paid, went through and the path took us through a little village with a school halfway up a mountain. Within about five minutes the Israeli and myself had walked off from the Danes, they kept stopping to take break where as we just walked and walked with little or no stopping.
The site of the Inca ruins was pretty awful, an area called the 'sacrificial table' was just a few rocks and not that much else, you either needed to be completely off your face or have a really creative imagination to see it. I tried to make up some elaborate story to believe it but it didn't work, just sounded really stupid and unbelievable. The Inca temple ruins weren't much better, they just looked like a farm hut or something, not very impressive, if MachuPicchu looked like this I don't think it would be worth going to! The best bit about the island so far was the views, the walk was really tiring, partly because the path was so uneven, also it was mostly up hill but mainly because it was around 4000m above sea level now. The view was stunning, something I had never seen before, but I can image something I would probably see again.
