As soon as I arrived I wanted to get straight to my hostel and drop my stuff off and chill out in central park or something. I had already been to NYC the year before so I had done a fair bit already and wasn't too fussed to see everything again. I went down onto the subway with my bags and it was really busy but lucky for me it wasn't quite rush hour yet so I hadn't been caught out. I bought the week unlimited travel card for the MTA transport system, it cost $27 and gave me unlimited travel on the metro and buses for a week from purchase date. I never used the subway last time but I was staying in Harlem so needed to use it to get anywhere this time. My hostel was on 128th st and Lennox/Malcom X boulevard. The nearest station was 125th and Lennox but I couldn't find the line for looking. The thing I did was get the number 1 red line to 125th and 8th and would have to walk across about five blocks or so and up three. I didn't realise how big the mistake was until I was walking along it. It took me forty minutes or so to get to the hostel and it was boiling hot, I was carrying my bags and a lot of it was up hills or down hill and around blocks and all sorts, it was hard work. As soon as I arrived at the hostel, I checked in, put my bags away and went straight across the road and bought myself a foot long meatball Subway.
