This time I was only going to stay in the airport for a bout two hours, no worrying about getting a taxi anywhere or having to pay extortionate prices for one nights stay. Everything was going smoothly and all I had to do was go to the American Airlines wing of the Bahamas international airport. The check in was easy and quick but the customs leaving the country was the same as entering the States, I presume to reduce the amount of waiting time upon arrival. I had to go through the fingerprint scanners and have my photograph taken again, all the same procedures I went through when I first arrived in Miami nearly two weeks ago. Once I was through the customs I went straight to the departure lounge. The departure lounge was this huge open room with market like stalls scattered throughout and restaurants along its sides. There were a couple of bars, one a pub like bar and another was a swanky cocktail bar with an annexed VIP lounge bar. I wanted to watch some of the football because the FIFA 2010 World Cup had just started and there was a game on right at the moment. Uruguay were playing France, I watched the game in a bar and grill at the far end of the terminal building and ate a salad. The game was really boring and ended in a 0-0 draw. The time for my flight was drawing nearer so I headed to the correct gate. Of course things can't go too smoothly as I always seem to have bad luck when it comes to flying. My flight was delayed by about an hour but it didn't make much difference to me, my connecting flight in Miami wasn't until about 22.00 and it was only about 15.00 now so I still had a long while yet. There was a little confusion when my flight was announced but it was sorted very quickly and everybody began boarding.
