When we were done with the empire state building we headed towards Times square, the girls wanted to see it at night with all the bill boards lit up and the whole area looking like a giant fruit machine, in my opinion anyway. I don't really like Times square much, it is way too full of tourists and it is busy twenty four hours a day. There seems to be a constant surge of people going through it at all times. We stuck around for a bit but needed to heads back to our hostel before midnight as the girls only had a day travel card for the New York metro and it expires at midnight on the day of purchase. We got the number 2 train back to the hostel and I got straight to business and bought some beer. I had really fancied a beer when we were walking around the top of the empire state building. I couldn't go to a bar, well I could but couldn't be bothered on my own, the girls were only eighteen and Chris was twenty, they legal drinking age in the USA is 21 and they are really strict about it. I tried to look for a bar called 'Jimmy's corner', it was a bar I really loved last time I was in New York. It is a really cool dive owned by Mohammed Ali's former boxing trainer. I met him and he is a really cool guy, just as I imaged him to be, shame I couldn't find the place. The good thing was is that I had a t-shirt I bought from the bar the last time I was there and it has the address as the main print. I think it is 144 44th St, but I couldn't find it any where when I went looking plus we were in a rush to get back to the hostel so we went back. I had about another two weeks left in NYC so I had all the time in the world to find it.
