What a surprise to see Rowan walk through the door, the time had just flown by I completely forgot that he would be arriving later. After he took his things to the room and spent bloody ages getting sorted we were nearly ready to get our beer on. Firstly though we had to go to Walmart and get some ingredients and some beer and just get some general things that we might need or not need as is sometimes the case. After we had eaten, well a little while later we sat in the common room discussing what we were going to do that night. Of course we were going out, it was Rowan's first night in New Orleans I hadn't actually properly been out yet. We were planning to go to Bourbon street, the main strip with bars and clubs and strip clubs in the French quarter. I heard some other guy talking about going out on Bourbon street, why not head out together, made perfect sense as he was planning on going alone. I wonder where he was from...Australia of course. The most people I have met so far on the first leg of my travels in the states have been Australian. He had actually been out during the day and walked around a bit and knew where he was going when we walked towards the French quarter. I had no idea where I was, I had been there once earlier but went a different route and didn't have any bearings in New Orleans. The walk wasn't as far as I thought, for some reason I had in my mind that it was ages away. When we got there though I wasn't impressed, not one single bit. It reminded me of all the things I really don't like about the red light district in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
