At the Loki hostel, the security guard outside told us that they were fully booked for the next couple of days, it wasn't such a big deal as the hostel was semi expensive but was supposed to be really good. We tried a few more on the way to the one touted, none of them had any space at all, a right pain really when you have been travelling for ages, have your heavy bags on your back, and have no place to go. When we go to the hostel, it was the same price as touted, $15 Soles, the room was a large five bed room, with plenty of space, it had a table and chair in it, it even had its own private bathroom. The room had the most strangest of locks, it was like a latch you slide across but had a loop that slotted into a hole with a key, it looked like something you might see on a late medieval castle door. A lot of the room had this sort of lock, very bizarre. The courtyard looked rather quite beautiful, with lots of different coloured flowers, some orchids and some cacti, it was all very colourful and bright. Other than that, there wasn't really much to do there. It was only a block away from one of the big squares, plaza San Francisco, and was surrounded by restaurants. The walk to the hostel from Loki was pretty cool, we walked past the square, lots of old traditional buildings, a couple of churches and a cathedral. That night we were all tired, I ate some not particularly good falafel on the way, well we all did, then went to the hostel to sleep.
