Cusco is an amazing looking city, in comparison to La Paz it is quite similar, they both are surrounded by hills, both in a valley but Cusco differs in the fact that it is actually a beautiful old city, it has Inca history and has very colonial areas. The architecture is far greater, from the classic traditional Inca styles to the Spanish colonial styles of the grand palatial buildings. It is very hilly and most of the roads are either in disrepair or are old cobbles stones or tiled. It is a great looking city, I would go as far as to say that it is the most beautiful city I have seen so far in south America, it has knocked Valparaiso off the top spot. Unfortunately I don't haven enough time to do anything, I am recovering from having a really bad stomach, not getting much sleep due to shitting a lot and having a sun burn on my back and shoulders. I never went out in Cusco even though I have heard so many stories of it being a party city, I wont get to experience it, I am sort of dieting, in the fact that I am trying to cut down my alcohol consumption and not eat as much salty, sweet and spicy food. I am still with the Danes and we met an Italian guy called Giovanni from a city near Verona, northern Italy. At the bus station we were touted to a hotel but we already had a couple of hostels in mind, we got a taxi to take us but the driver quoted the most ridiculous of prices, he wanted ten more to take us three blocks more than the hostel he was touting, he was part of the group touting, he must get a cut or something.
