The road had ended, we could see construction was under way for a new road but there was nothing further than here for now. We had to somehow cross the rapid, there were no bridges or shallows or any crossable bits of river. The only way across was via a sort of cable car. It was a basic cage connected to a top wire/thick metal cable with rollers on it, then another cable attached to either side of the cage, these cables were pulled from either side of the river by helpful fellows. The cage is very unstable and has no form of balance, it has to be balanced by the people inside. One at a time, two at a time, sometimes in a rush very daringly three at a time. I was really excited to test it out so I pushed to the front of a group, there were two of us in it already, the man loading it was calling for one more, I happily jumped at the chance and went straight in. it was pretty nerve wracking but altogether very fun. It got a bit scary when it stopped halfway but we were soon pulled to safety. Once across I was itching to get back on and hoped on the way back that we would do it again.
